Very sheltered housing

( Youlgrave & District ) Society Ltd

About us

Granby House was opened in 1990 by the then Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Granby House provides a secure home for eight elderly residents. Each has their own private self-furnished room, with ensuite facilities. The residents have lunch and tea cooked for them, and they eat together as a household.

Where it is

Granby House is in the rural village of Youlgrave, between Bakewell and Matlock. It is opposite the doctors' surgery, and very close to the church and the playing fields. It is a short level walk to the post office, village store and a choice of pubs. Youlgrave is known for its pantomime and welldressing.
